New version 4.4, table perspectives

JenaSoft announces new major release 4.4. Main new feature is support of table perspectives. Also error handling in data browser was improved, and many smaller bugs were fixed.

Table perspectives - new dimension in working with data

This is bit strange name for very powerful mechanism in working with data. The simplest usage is to restrict columns visible in table. More interesting application is adding referenced columns into table view.

In this picture, columns  FirstName and LastName are added from table Customer. Columns from foreign table can be modified, can be used for sorting and filtering. Internally, LEFT JOIN is generated.

This feature is available in all editions, also in free Personal edition.

Reusable perspectives

Reusable perspectives are available only in Professional edition. Perspectives can be also saved and associated with server, database, schema, table name or columns, as shown in following picture:
